Prerequisites: Age 18 and up, Non-Expired CPR w/ AED, Non-Expired First Aid, IFSAC/Pro Board Hazardous Materials Awareness, IFSAC/Pro Board Rope Technical Rescuer for the Awareness & Operations Level, Confined Space Rescue Training.

Gear: Helmet with chin strap, clean leather gloves, eye protection, work or hiking boots, knee pads, if possible, outdoor work clothing or coveralls appropriate for weather conditions, and SCBA. TURNOUT GEAR IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This program is designed to enhance the student’s ability to perform critical skill sets in the field of technical rescue for confined space rescue. During this course, students will review technical rescue theories, techniques, and challenges to accurately and safely execute the skill sets required for professional certification. Topics include scene management, mechanical advantage systems, rope management, anchor systems, rescue knots, size-up considerations, hazard identification and control, permit & non-permit required confined space areas, OSHA and NFPA applicable standards and laws, and patient care. This course is designed for the experienced rescuer with a strong working knowledge of technical rescue in accordance with NFPA 1006 Chapter 7 Confined Space Awareness and Operations and 1670.
